Fasque
Fasque
is the family home of the Gladstones, a stately home but due
to the battlements on the front its appearance is more like
a castle than a manor house. Half a million pounds has been
spent on the property in recent years including a new roof.
The interior is still very much of its time including the
original writing desk of Prime Minister; William Gladstone,
which is now used for, couples signing their marriage schedule.
One
of the most stunning aspects of the house is the double cantilever
staircase up to the first floor where your guests are free
to wander through the magnificent drawing room, library and
bedrooms.
The
house is located 34 miles from Aberdeen and 20 miles from
Dundee near the tiny village of Fettercairn. The house can
accommodate up to 100 guests for day and up to 150 in total
for the evening. The ceremony can take place in the house
or in the nearby village of Fettercairn.
A
marquee can also be used in the grounds for larger numbers
if required. The marquee is attached to the rear of the building,
and there is therefore no detraction from the appearance of
Fasque itself.
From
2004 Fasque will offer some accommodation within the main
house.
Shooting
can be arranged for the groom and his guests on the estate
with a Champagne picnic while the bridal party are getting
ready in the main house.
